FAQ

Useful Information

What are the age requirements to be qualified?

We build urns for children who have been lost up to the age of 19 years old or what is considered a minor in the state they reside in. The loss of a child does not have to begin with birth, if you lose your child in utero (ie late term miscarriage, stillborn, or other complications) you can still be qualified.

Is there any charge for the Urns?

No. There is absolutely no charge to the family.  All urns are made and shipped through the generous donations provided. The purpose of the organization is to help shield the family from the financial burden of expensive urns.

What is my donation used for?

All donations go to the production of urns and memorials, shipping costs, and expenses of keeping nonprofit running. It is not used for personal profit and gain.

Does my child have to be cremated for be qualified?

No. If you do not have your child cremated, but would still like something made in their memory, you can apply for a memorial. You will still need to fill out the application on the application page for a urn but specify in the subject box that you would like a memorial instead of urn. The memorials typically come in the form of a keepsake box where you can place picture or special items inside.

Do we have to live within the same state as the organization?

No. Xander’s Legacy is based out of Colorado but you do not have to live in Colorado to qualify. The loss of a child unfortunately happens all over the country and we will not put borders around how far we are willing to help. Donations will also be used to help with shipping expenses

My child comes from a split family, can we get more than one urn so both families can have one?

Unfortunately no, we require only one urn be gifted per child. We understand families come in all forms, but in order to ensure other families have the same opportunity to receive an urn, we must limit the amount of urns. We are a nonprofit that is solely funded by donations. If there is an extremely unfortunate situation in which one family looses multiple children, the family can receive a urn for each child within the family.
